The appraisal business was originally started in 1983 by Lesley Piper under the name LAP Appraisals. Lesley attended many appraisal courses and became affiliated with various Appraisal Organizations receiving many certifications. Appraising was very different from how it is today. From typing your own reports and having your pictures developed, the business and its requirements have come a long way to include State run licensing and certification.

Lesley’s daughter, Allison Langis, joined the business in 1992 while attending College. In 1994, she became Certified and eventually took over the business. The name was changed at this time to LA Appraisals.

Allison’s business now includes completion of appraisals in both Maine and New Hampshire with the additional help of Christopher Labrecque, Mike Trudeau, Mike Bernier, Chris Bernier, Adam Lougee, Lesley Piper and Nathan Peters. With that is a combined experience of more than 90 years.
